This week the focus of Between Birds of Prey is John Milton’s epic poem “Paradise Lost”. This very large poem, first published in 1667, tells the story of the temptation of Adam and Eve by the fallen angel Satan and their expulsion from the Garden of Eden.

“I sung of Chaos and Eternal Night,
Taught by the heav’nly Muse to venture down
The dark descent, and up to reascend…”
